FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: Nashville Talking Library

Nashville Talking Library--
a great place to volunteer!

Volunteers read newspapers live on the air, and record books and magazines in booths in our studios in Madison. Our recording hours are fairly flexible, so volunteers can set up a reading schedule that fits well into their busy lives. Volunteers may schedule their time anytime during the following hours:

7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday

How to volunteer

We especially need volunteers who can read The Tennessean once eack week 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. Monday - Saturday or once a month on Sunday, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. We also need for book and magazine readers to help with the Tennessean.

Call or e-mail Michael Wagner at 862.5874, and set up an appointment for an interview and to see the station. We will train you to operate the recording equipment, and talk with you about your schedule.

Other ways you can help...

If you or someone you know might be able to use this service, please call for more information. If you would like to donate money to the service, (which would buy much-needed radios and other equipment), call Fran Ziglar, our station manager, and talk to her about making a donation. And finally, if you are a member of a civic or church group, let us make a presentation to help get the word out.
